My Story

Purple Girl Designs By Amber didn't just happen overnight.  It's been a journey that I continue to this day!  I grew up in Los Angeles, CA where my Daddy was a jeweler in downtown.  While I had little interest in jewelry making I always cherished the time I spent with him at work on the weekends.  

Fast forward a decade or so of working corporate jobs and a cross-country move to Charlotte, NC to follow my passion of racing and motorsports.  It was then that I started to feel the itch for a creative outlet away from my 9-5.  So I started making necklaces, bracelets and earrings for friends, family and co-workers.  At the time I was designing colorful, fun pieces that brought me tons of joy!  

But my journey and the story of Purple Girl Designs really starts in 2012 when, by chance, I connected on a spiritual level with a new found friend.  At first it was spiritual fairs, then frequent trips to local and not so local shops where I absorbed everything about meditation, spirituality, mindfulness, gemstones and their properties and values.

Then in 2013 I was let go from the corporate job, sold most of my possessions and headed across the pond to travel around the United Kingdom visiting London, Bath, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Glasgow, York and many places in between.   When I returned from this amazing experience I realized my life's purpose was to help others with the knowledge I had gained through my experiences: Spirituality and Mindfulness.     

Now, the focus for Purple Girl Designs By Amber is to teach everyone who is willing to learn about my Gemstone Healing Jewelry.  Each and every all-natural, semi-precious gemstone I use has properties, meanings and values that can help you with Mind, Body, Soul and Spirit.  Whether you suffer from insomnia, anxiety or depression there is a stone that can help you.  Sometimes, you just need a reminder to be strong and confident, happy-go-lucky or to just live your life on your own terms.  

I am the "Purple Girl" because purple is my favorite color...but really because of amethyst and it's very strong message.  Amethyst is all about Love, Joy and Compassion!  And that's the message I want to share with everyone I meet. 

The meanings and healing properties of each stone are rooted in a long history; some going back thousands of years.  I am still a student of gemology and I want to pass on that knowledge.  But let's not forget, Gemstone Healing Jewelry is about you and what you are working on in your life and the power that comes from within you!
